About

Hello! My name is Sonja Warner.

I live in the Sacramento area with my husband of 40 years and the sweetest Labrador you will ever meet named Molly. I work as a bookkeeper by day, and a writer whenever I can. I have been a life-long book nerd and was always one of those weird kids who actually enjoyed school—especially subjects such as English and History. I still love to study and learn, especially about God and His Word.

I knew from a very early age that I belonged to God and that he had a claim on my life. But learning what that means on a day to day basis has been a very long, slow journey. Eugene Peterson (in his book of the same name) has referred to the Christian life as “a long obedience in the same direction”. Now in my 6th decade of life, I can look back and see that this is an apt description of my own life. Progress has mostly been slow, and I’ve fallen into some serious pits along the way, but I can say that I’ve been moving in the same direction all these years. I’m growing into a woman of God.

My heart’s desire is to encourage other women who may be discouraged with how slowly the process of spiritual growth is moving. You may call it discipleship, or transformation, or sanctification…but it sometimes doesn’t progress as quickly as we want it to. But it IS happening; God is working in you. So keep growing, my friends.
